DAYS 26 and 27, Puerto Montt, Chile

Day 26 Thursday, February 9. At sea

Day 27 Friday, February 10. Puerto Montt, Chile

There were rough seas and fog overnight, causing the ship to arrive more than an hour late. The tour we booked did not show up, so we hired a cab. It worked out great.

Instead of the bus route, Claudio, our driver took the side roads, so we got to see more of the town and surrounding area. One of our fellow cruise passengers, Jackie White, took this mysterious photo of two pieces of art. The closer item was obscured, so I did a drawing that tries to solve the mystery of the closer item.

The sight of the two volcanos was amazing, and the weather cooperated. The next stop was Petrohue Falls, and we lucked out. The line for tickets must have been half an hour long, but as Seniors we were able to skip it.

You can actually see the volcanos from the falls, which surprised me.

After spending years as an IT professional, creating and supporting systems for designers, writers, and editors, I am now pursuing a dream: to be an artist. I have "drawing on the brain"--not only do I feel compelled to draw all the time, I enjoy thinking about art.
