Day 19, Callao, Peru

The ship needed to make a “technical stop,” i.e., to take on provisions, so Callao, Peru was added as well as Guayaquil, but were told we would not be allowed ashore. Thankfully the harbor master arranged for a group of vendors to set up their tents to sell their local products. So, with the proviso that we wear masks, we were allowed to go onto the pier for a couple hours of shopping under the imposing gaze of three giant cranes.
